FAQ

Questions, answered honestly

Including the ones with answers that don't flatter us.

Is this just ChatGPT with a betting prompt?

No, and the difference is checkable in any report. Sharply pulls live prices from every book we cover and computes no-vig fair value arithmetically — that part is math, not a language model. It then researches the specific question against primary sources, runs a critic pass whose job is to argue the opposite side, and cites every source with a timestamp and a link you can open. A chatbot will give you a confident probability with nothing under it; the whole point here is that you can audit where the number came from and disagree with it.

What's the $1 offer?

Start a Pro subscription for $1 and get full access for 3 days. After that, it's $39.99 a month — one plan, no annual option. Cancel anytime before the trial ends and you won't be charged further. See the Pricing section for full billing terms.

Is this financial or betting advice?

No. Sharply produces probability estimates and evidence to help you think. It is not investment, legal, or betting advice, and we are not a broker or exchange. You are responsible for your own decisions.

Will it tell me how much to bet?

No. We show fair value, break-even, and estimated net edge, but we never tell you how much money to risk, never encourage chasing losses, and never recommend borrowing.

Where do the sources come from?

From official APIs, primary documents, reputable data providers, and established reporting — accessed through compliant channels. Each source is timestamped and rated, and we link you to the original.

How accurate is it?

We don't claim accuracy we haven't measured. Outcomes are recorded automatically as markets settle, and every forecast is scored with Brier score and calibration on the Accuracy page. Until enough predictions have resolved to be statistically meaningful, that page says so plainly rather than showing a flattering number. Treat estimates as a research aid, not a guarantee.

Do you execute trades or connect to my wallet?

No. There is no wallet connection and no automatic trade execution. The product is a research tool only.

What happens after the 3-day trial?

Your card is charged $39.99 automatically when the trial ends — that's the full year in one payment — and the subscription renews every year after that, unless you cancel before the trial ends.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel from Settings → Billing in one click. You keep access through the end of your current paid period. No retention call, no email, no form.

What if I forget to cancel?

If you don't plan to continue, cancel right after starting the trial — you keep full access until it ends either way. If you're ever charged unexpectedly, contact us and we'll make it right.

Is my payment secure?

Payments are processed by Stripe. Sharply never sees or stores your card number.
